Humblewood Character Building Workshop

For new Dungeons & Dragons players

2 hrFæbleKin South Berkeley

Service Description

Welcome to the Faeblekin Adventurer’s Bootcamp. When we play RPGs together we each have to come up with a character that both interacts with the world around it and the other players at the table. In the D&D 5e system there are many choices for character classes, skills, spells and backgrounds and both new and veteran players alike can end up overwhelmed. In this workshop we’ll explore the components that make a Player Chacater in the Humblewood setting. I’ll share some different strategies to put a character together and by the end of the workshop you should have a playable character for the Humblewood Universe. TTRPGs are a unique experience in the sense that the players and the GM are telling a story together. When I run tables the player characters are meant to drive the story by making choices that affect the world and people (NPCs) around them. This is easier to accomplish in a group when each player has a sense of their character’s identity and motivations. However in most cases WHO a character is is shaped by WHERE the character is from, the WORLD the character lives in and the PEOPLE the character grew up around.
